What is Bindings?
Deviant Art competitor? Another social network?
Everyone starts with their humble first book.
BEHOLD. BINDINGS.
Last week we announced our first product, Bindings.
Bindings let's you upload your comics (PDFs, JPGS, TIFFs, PNGs) and create shareable links to that book in our beautiful web reader. Depending on what you want readers to do when they visit that link, you can add certain buttons and widgets to said reader. You can even password protect the whole thing.
Your Bindings library is private and readers can only see your work if you choose to share it with them by creating a share (which you can disable at any time).
When a user reads your comic, we record where they're from, what page or panel (vertical scroll) they got to and report the view and any actions taken to your analytics (we work hard to respect reader privacy too, we don't want to shit on your audience).
This helps you, our lovely customer, figure out where your audience is and maybe go visit that convention in Anchorage next year. Or maybe you're a publisher, and you're discovering you're huge in Topeka, so you spend more ad dollars there. Or maybe you get a ton of newsletter signups from Instagram posts? A menagerie of info.
Is Bindings on Android or iOS?
Bindings is web-only for now, but works great on mobile browsers.
Is Bindings just for comic creators?
It's for anyone with comics to sell and audiences to grow. Publishers big and small; Creators of various human sizes, etc. Our subscription will eventually support removing the Bindings branding and putting up your own logo and (tasteful) colors.
I noticed the site mentions Webtoons? Do you support vertical scrolling comics? Manga?
Yes, Bindings reader supports reading left-to-right, right-to-left or vertical scrolling Webtoons/Tapas-style comics. Our goal is to not only support as many styles of comic as we can, but to do it effortlessly on the behalf of our customer.
For vertical scrolling comics, we do have a special spot for you to upload a series or episode cover. For Manga or other right-to-left comics, it's a simple switch. In fact, here's how you edit an entry:

Where's the stupid AI pitch?
Bindings uses no AI in its product. We do our absolute best to protect your work from being eaten by AI monsters. We even enable protections so your work isn't stolen.
How much does it cost?
Bindings will be a subscription service, and we will have a free tier for those just getting started in comics. Part of our current beta invite-only period is seeing how people use the site to figure out a good price. You'll pay more for ad-free Netflix.
What does it look like when I share a comic on social networks?
We generate a share image based on your episode series or comic cover. Here's an example on Messages.
